Baskerville on the Tyranny of the Family Court System
Two great videos reminding us all of arguably the greatest threat to liberty that exists in our society...and all Republicans and socons can do is yammer on about how homogamy is the greatest evil ever:
Not sure where you are seeing Rs and socons "yammer on" about gay marriage as "the greatest evil ever". I think there is a very legitimate social argument that redefining the term "marriage" to include anyone you want to marry has serious and negative social consequences but I don't see a lot of harping on this by most conservatives.
Instead I see most conservatives "yammering on" about an intrusive and overbearing government and out of control spending.
Maybe I'm looking at different yammerers than you.
". I think there is a very legitimate social argument that redefining the term "marriage" to include anyone you want to marry has serious and negative social consequences"
As do I. But it strikes me as a bit late in the game...where were (and are) these guys when it comes to divorce?
Perhaps homogamy is far enough away as to be a safe issue, whist divorce is, ahem, too close to home for comfort.
As far as the yammerers, I readily concede that the discussion of late has focused on spending and gun control, and not on homogamy per se. Yet it is very interesting to consider just how much power government garners by facilitating family breakup.
