According to the FBI annual crime statistics, the number of murders committed annually with hammers and clubs far outnumbers the number of murders committed with a rifle. In 2005, the number of murders committed with a rifle was 445, while the number of murders committed with hammers and clubs was 605. In 2006, the number of murders committed with a rifle was 438, while the number of murders committed with hammers and clubs was 618[, while] in 2011, there were 323 murders committed with a rifle but 496 murders committed with hammers and clubs.Besides killing more people, there is another reason why we should ban hammers and clubs from public possession: there is no Constitutional amendment barring the government from infringing on the people's right to own hammers. Ditto with the rights of those fruitcakes who want to open-carry the lethal weapons in public, dangling from their hip-holsters, along with pockets full of pointy projectiles...no pesky Amendment there either. Furthermore, since the Left hates Xtians who take their religion seriously, well the historical figure known as Jesus was a Jewish carpenter, so there's another reason to ban them. And best of all, there's no NHA--National Hammer Association--to lobby against the legislation. No Wayne LaPierre-equivalent reprensenting the millions of hammer owners out there, challenging our country to guard schools with police armed with hammers and clubs like British bobbies. Easy victory in Congress to be had, if only someone would take up the call to ban hammers and clubs. It's for the children.

Ban Hammers, Not Rifles
After all, hammers and clubs kill more people
